E- From Inventory to Impact: 10 Years of Emergency Call Out Data

Join Andrew as he reviews how municipal tree inventories, maintenance history, and emergency response records can
be used together to better understand and manage tree risk. Using more than 30,000 emergency response records over
a 10-year period (2015–2025) from California and Arizona, the presentation examines how extreme weather events
(including Santa Ana winds, atmospheric rivers, heat waves, drought, and monsoon storms) influence tree failures and
emergency response demand. The presentation also introduces practical ways agencies can use existing data including
tree inventories, work history, and storm response records to support maintenance planning, staffing readiness, and
urban forest resilience under increasingly extreme weather conditions.
